I think local lime has the best cheese dip in all of Arkansas! The frozen margaritas are also a must try!! I've had several things on the menu and it's all very good. I like the chicken fajitas best of all!!

Cute, hip place with tasty food and strong cocktails. Definitely coming back. I had a $4 happy hour margarita and it was pretty strong...which makes me happy because I personally am all about "more bang for your buck". I sampled my sister's strawberry margarita, which I normally don't get because they're too sweet...and it was perfect. Like I would actually order one next time I visit. Thumbs up for their happy hour drinks. I ordered the crispy shrimp tacos... Pretty decent. Very fresh and came out crazy fast..which normally would make me think they have stuff prepare and I definitely frown upon that, but absolutely not the case here. And they were pretty busy, so I was shocked at how quickly we got our meal. I had to wait for it to cool down. The black beans, green rice and tacos were all very yummy and super fresh. Awesome location in the chenal promenade. It was a Wednesday evening and several other restaurants had outdoor live music. Laid back, casual vibe. Price was very fair. I had an entree and a cocktail and my bill was about $17. Summary: yep. Definitely going back for those $4 little dynamite margaritas. And trying the salsa next time.

At this point Scott McGehee has opened Arkansas-ized versions of almost all of the restaurant types I always planned to import to Little Rock from San Francisco (he's missing a crepe place, but if he's reading this I suspect it's coming soon). And the results, from the beer to the maki to the Penang curry, have been mostly California quality. He's done much to enhance my hometown. Local Lime, however, is nothing special. Had I not known it was a local place, I would have assumed it was a typical tex-mex chain. My greasy fajitas ($17), were indistinguishable from Chevvys. Interestingly, no one in my party knew what Chevvys was, which may explain why this place is so popular. If you're going to bring the Bay Area home, Scott, take a risk and pick better SF spots to copy, like Gracias Madre and Green Chili Kitchen - both of which deliver Mexican food that's actually good for you.

It was okay..... Cucumber Dip and guacamole was good. But the Fish fajitas "specials" were chard which didn't taste so great. Steak fajitas were okay. The rest of our party wasn't too impress either. Margaritas were good tho. If I come back, I'll try their bar with appetizers, but that's about it. Oh, I would call ahead on weekends for a table to prevent wait, although I got some nice shopping done during the wait.

We were here last evening for dinner with friends. And, the verdict is: so disappointing. I am not sure what happened - we walk in, ask to be seated outside since the wait time inside is between 30-40 minutes. We order the chips with 3 salsa - Chipotle, pumpkin seeds and mango. And, this is where things start to go bad. I was the only one in the group who had dined here before so, I was helping them with their choices and this is why I feel particularly disappointed. All the salsas were over-salted! Everyone in the group was too polite at the table to say something or ask it to be returned. We move on to our next order. Our friends order tacos and my partner and I get our own fajitas. While the server was taking our order, I had mentioned that we could share the chicken fajitas since the portion size is really good. The waiter disagreed and said it's right for one person only. Anyway, we went ahead with his recommendation since we had plans for the evening and wanted to move on to our conversation. The food was brought to the table and one look at the plating and I knew this was not the Local Lime I had raved about to my friends. Our friends Tacos had some sauce slathered on that made it too spicy to eat. They were picking on their rice and drunken beans all through the meal, our fajitas had tiny bits of chicken - I would say it was half the meat and veggies I was served on my previous visits. To make matters worse, our server showed up only once to refill our drinks. My parter had margaritas and our friends had diet coke and frozen margaritas. The diet coke was ignored for refills. My friend said the frozen margarita that she had ordered was not the flavor she had asked for. And, when we accidentally split some water on the table, our server showed no inclination to help us sort the mess. What a disaster! What made it even worse was that this was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for us. Local Lime, you did pick a bad day to be so disappointing.

Pretty solid tex-mex place. What really sold me were the salsas, they have a whole menu of them and they're all really, really good. The guacamole was just OK, the chips, excellent. Charging for salsa was a little different for me but it's cheap and VERY good so it's fine by me. The food is definitely more tex-mex than straight up Mexican and it's very good. I had the carnitas tacos and they were good. My sister had the fajitas which smelled phenomenal. They have local beer from Lost 40 on tap which is always nice to see. Looking at the place though I couldn't really decide if they were a chain or a local shop; apparently they are local and this is the only location but the place has a very mega-chain like feel to it.

One of my favorite restaurants in LR, beautiful mod-rustic restaraunt with a laid back vibe. The food is absolutely fantastic, clean and fresh.I had chicken tacos and they were so flavorful! I also had grilled lobster quesadilla which was as good as it sounds. Try the salsa trio and get the black beans and cilantro lime rice with your meal. A good restaraunt has excellent staple side dishes and the rice and beans are worth the trip alone!

In a lot of restaurants something or the other is missing. This one is no exception. Oh you ask what's missing here? The word 'bland' in their dictionary! I was blown away from the second I walked in. Warm, welcoming staff, mind blowing good food and the cherry on top? Service didn't take forever! I tried the tacos and chips with their selection of salsas, loved everything. My favorite part of my order was the rice and beans, yes it's that good - and I'm from Dallas so I know what good Mexican food tastes like. I'd totally go back here!

I went to Oklahoma City for three months and legitimately had dreams of coming back and eating here. That's how good this place is. I get either the chorizo tacos (add the verde salsa to them, trust.) And I usually get two sides of the cilantro lime rice. So goddamn good!

Like this place a lot but sometimes they have trouble getting what I want. But overall a pretty good place with a decent menu to try for everyone.

Every single thing we had was fantastic! We ordered the 3 types of salsa to start: Chipotle, mango, and zucchini. All were outstanding, if I had to pick a favorite it would be the zucchini! We ordered chicken tacos and the Dixon chicken enchiladas. The tacos were lighter, not very hot, but most certainly tasty! The enchiladas were heavier but delicious. Sauce was hotter, but good. I wouldn't consider myself big on hotter foods, but this was great. We had frozen margaritas, soooo amazing. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy tequila all that much and he said this was the best he had ever. Servers were attentive, and atmosphere was very relaxing and hip. Outdoor seating had black see through draw curtains that kept the sun out, and there was even string bulb lights above us. Would have been nice to be there at night I presume! We will be back multiple times I imagine!

Like Za Za's and Big Orange (done by the same folks), Local Lime is fresh, clean, and hip in a low-key kind of way. Perhaps using the word hip is lame and old (I would like to think I am neither) but it feels evocative for Local Lime. I had happy hour drinks and snacks (salsa and guac) at the bar and enjoyed the drinks (well mixed), the salsa (especially the verde!), and the bartender (personable and full of puns!), but the guac had cumin in it, which is not to my palate. I was surprised that it wasn't busier, but I just moved to the area, so perhaps that is typical for a weeknight. The upside is that you'll have no problem getting a table!

Absolutely loved the salsa and tacos here. The wait was over an hour.. Which was a little much. The service once we sat down was great though. My wife and I will 100% be back again and likely recommend this place to others.

We had a good evening at Local Lime after we got past the obnoxious person taking names at the front desk. If we had not been starving, her rude and condescending behavior would have sent us packing. However, after our wait, the experience was wonderful. Our waiter was helpful and attentive and the food was very good. The 3 salsas he recommended were wonderful, especially the zucchini and house tomato. I got the zucchini/roasted corn tacos with cilantro lime rice - both of which were wonderful, as well. The quality of the food is excellent, but the serving sizes are not large - so if you are looking for quantity over quality this is not the place for you. Overall the experience was wonderful. Get rid of the obnoxious woman at the front desk and it would be a 5 star experience for sure!!

Everything here is excellent. Personally I think it's the best Mexican in Little Rock. Fish tacos both grilled and beer battered are amazing. The chicken tacos are another one of my favorites. I also sometimes get shrimp and chicken fajitas. Don't forget about queso, salsa and margaritas!

Enchiladas are good but not a solid 4 or 5 star. You have to pay for your salsa, but get free chips. Bar area is off the chart cool. Good location. Excellent house margarita.

Just ate here-had the tacos. With a plate you get 3 of one meat type and two sides. Was disappointed that I couldn't "Pick 3" without having to go a'la cart and then pay $2 for each side!!!!! Here's a suggestion, price a "choose 3" at the highest taco cost and let your customers try different meats. Service was good Food was good

My daughter loves this place and always wants to go. It's a great place, always pretty busy, so you can expect a wait. They do some 'cool' things with food, particularly the salsa. Be Bold and try the Zucchini salsa with pumpkin seeds (I know, really?) it is pretty good, as is the Mango Salsa. For real food the grilled fish or chicken tacos are very good - and - with my health kick, I do grab the drunken beans (love the name) and the pickled hot veggies - both worth a try. And yes, this is also a place I would classify as a 'chick-food' joint, very hipster, but as to a recent challenge I had using that term, maybe my tastes are evolving to like chick-food. I do like Local Lime.

A little pricey. $45 for 2 people at lunchtime. Food was fair. There's no salsa and chips before your meal. That cost extra. No burritos. They put a weird spice on everything and lime.

    (3)
  • Tim V.

If don't like cilantro or beans don't eat here. Everything is covered in cilantro. Nice decor, but also kind of pricey. Maybe it's ok for just drinks and salsa if you can get the salsa without cilantro.

In all fairness, have only been there twice before. Margaritas were great. Cheese dip on menu had corn & jalapeños in it. Turned out they were only garnishes so we could get plain queso. Very good as were the chips. I ordered the fish tacos with chipolte sauce & pico de gallo on the side. It came with the chipolte sauce on it. Since it was too spicy for me to eat, I sent it back with the repeated request of the sauce on the side. When I tasted the new tacos, they had a distinct smell & taste of bleach. My husband smelled the bleach too. I ate the first of the 3 but didn't finish the 2nd or touch the 3rd. When paying the bill, my husband told the waitress so that she could alert the kitchen. Quite frankly, we expected my meal to be taken off the bill but it wasn't. Not sure we will return.

The menu marks for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free and it's easy to get modifications though it can be tricky if you've also got other allergies *coughtomatoescough*. I love the market corn, veggie fajitas, and beans and greens. Portions are reasonable rather than being the humongous American size so that it's feasible for a small gal like me to get an appetizer and not leave with three days' worth of leftovers. Everything is beautifully presented. Service is fantastic - I never actually managed to run out of tea despite having worked very hard on this. The music is a little odd, part well-chosen classics like Bowie and then occasional 80s hair metal and the like but not too disruptive.

The store was accommodating to a large group of sixteen women. The salsa with chips was $3 but you got three flavors. Happy hour has $5 margaritas that are not made from a mix so it was delicious. The portions are on the small end but the flavor was good and I didn't leave hungry or full.

I'll start of by saying this is not a typical Mexican restaurant, which I didn't see from any other reviews. That's not a bad thing just not what I was expecting. You pick 3 salsa types which what we went with were all ok but nothing fantastic. Their hot was not spicy at all. The service was ok but very fast. Food came out within minutes it seemed. I went with the chicken fajitas and they were good but the tiny tortillas were ridiculous. Others had enchiladas, and tacos. All were happy with food. Nothing spectacular but all good.

Our road trip took us to Arkansas, and after searching for a local place to try, we decided on Local Lime. To be honest, we were surprised at the location. We didn't imagine it would be in a modern shopping center, but maybe that's because my western New York mentality - shopping mall = chain. But we were proven wrong and headed in anyways. It seems like everyone in Little Rock wanted to eat out on Sunday evening. This place was packed, and since we had come all the way from New York, we weren't going in search of another place. And I figured if it was this busy, the food must be good. I believe we had a 40 minute wait, but they have this great app that they use to let you know when your table is ready. It sends you a text, and you can also login to check how many parties are ahead of you. We went back to the car and recorded a podcast, so it all worked out. When our table was ready, we were seated in the outdoor/patio portion of the restaurant - which is enclosed and was fairly warm when it was full. Later in the evening, as people started to leave, I was a little chilly. For starters we had the salsa. We tried the red salsa, green tomatillo, and the zucchini w/ pepitos. The green tomatillo was by far the best, with the zucchini coming in second. The chips are an interesting shape, but still tasty. I filled up on them and probably didn't even need my main entree. I also ordered the guacamole, which I enjoyed, but my friend thought was too creamy and that it might have had sour cream in it. I enjoyed the cucumber and jicama dippers with the guac. The cukes were a little soft, but the jicama was perfect. I opted for the chicken enchilladas, and they were good. Though, to be honest, they weren't anything special. I didn't particularly care for the cilantro rice - it was too bland and a bit heavy. The black beans were ok, but I'm not a huge fan of beans anyways. My friend ordered fish tacos, and enjoyed them (I think), but she hadn't eaten all day, and she may have eaten most anything put in front of her. For drinks I went with the ginger lime soda - which I have to say was the highlight of the meal. It was quite delicious, and as the DD, I was happy to have a good drink. My friend had a margarita, and REALLY enjoyed it. Though she wished for a little more salt. I would definitely recommend this place to locals, and others passing through the area.

Barely passable for a decent meal. We were seated by the front door, in traffic, breezy, loud. Waitress is obese; not a pleasing sight. Salsas had very little flavor, tomatillo was the worst I have ever had. Fajitas were greasy, Nachos were burnt, Queso Blanco was so bland it tasted like day old yogurt. We will NEVER return, and hope that this review will help you make a better decision about where you go to eat. Someone kept playing with the lighting and the audio system, too. Very low class joint.

I don't usually give 5 stars, but this place was amazing in pretty much every category. Living in Dallas (which I consider the mecca of Tex-Mex), this place really surprised my wife and I. We stopped b/c of the reviews even though it was 20 minutes out of our way. Boy was it worth it! I use Javier's and Mi Cocina (M Crowd restaurant) as my standards for Mexican food. Rice, chips, margaritas (frozen only), drunken beans, chicken - this place blew me away. If I lived in Little Rock, this would be my favorite and most frequented place to have a date night with my wife. Hope this helps you decide.

BUENO! Foodies unite. This is the place. It was the first restaurant we tried upon arriving in Little Rock and it will be a place we frequent. We started with some of the delicious sauces - the zucchini sauce, tres chilis and chipotle - amazing. The start of the show were the carnitas tacos. I can't say I'll eat anything else in the 1 million times I hope to go back. The pork was marinated and cooked to perfection and the sauce that toped off this treat was the perfect compliment. Go here - the food will speak for itself!

I just went there for the first time. The food was wonderful. Not huge portions but really well made food. Definitely not your typical Mexican food. They were packed so don't expect to run in and out. Just a heads up...

This place has amazing food. We went there while in the area based on the reviews and were not at all disappointed. Everyone's food was fantastic: salads, queso, zucchini tacos, an off the menu special recommended by waitress. Their margaritas were small but VERY potent. Cilantro lime rice was fantastic. Portion sizes perfect. My second facvorite Mexican restaurant in LR now. A very very close second. Go here!

This is our favorite place to eat in Little Rock. My husband is a vegan and this is the only place in Little Rock that we can both get AWESOME farm-to-table, fresh food. It's Mexican food done in a creative, unique way. My vegan hubby loves the "Beans and Greens" Taco Plate with Jalapeño Mixed Veggies and Black Beans. I love the Grilled Chicken Taco Plate with 2 sides of Black Beans (obviously, the black beans are amazing!). They're also "famous" for awesome margaritas...and they deliver. And, they also have amazing seasonal cocktails. I cannot recommend Local Lime enough!

I don't really see why this place is always booked. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated. I ordered the steak fajitas and a fish taco to share with a friend of mine. The fajitas came with about 4 tortillas which sounds ok, but they are really small. I was only able to fit about half of the meat and stuff into the 4 I was given. The fish taco I received was stone cold and almost raw. Our waiter came to our table only once during our service after we received our food. It became the running joke to see how long it would take for him to come back. I don't really see us coming back to Local Lime any time soon. The food is WAY over priced as well. $4 for a small taco? I can honestly say I'd rather spend $20 at taco bell over Local Lime.

  • Foodie S.

Loco Lime has great atmosphere. It's modern and a fun place to go with friends. The food is ok. The three taco plate is small but it's tasty. However, I had the grill pescado (fish) with tomatoes and garlic on a sizzling platter and it sounded so good but it was horrible. The fish was blackened and very salty and looked like a college student dumped a can of tomatoes over it and threw some garlic pieces on top. It was so salty, I couldn't eat it. Best margarita in town but you can probably only have just two.

The wife & I went in to Local Lime on a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad we did because the place was great. Not sold on the location, as one really needs to be out at the Promenade already for it to be worth it. The ambience was great. The place was well-manicured without being too hipster or trying too hard. We went during Happy Hour when margaritas & guacamole are only $5 (and both are quite generous portions). We also got some queso & a flight of salsas. Everything was delicioso and the waitstaff was courteous and attentive without being overbearing. An overall great place, and I plan on going back for a full me, sometime.

Food tasted good, but portion sizes were horribly skimpy for the price. The $12 steak nachos were not anywhere near worth $12. This is also a very expensive place to drink. No domestic beer, no beer taps. All beer was $4.50-6.50 per bottle. Nice place, but a little pricy for my taste.

Margaritas both frozen and on the rocks were great! Service from Randall was very attentive and our fish tacos were perfect. After that, the bill was very reasonable. Would return to this place!

I have heard great things from many food reviewers so I wanted to see what all the hype was about! My SOS and I went for a little getaway weekend to Little Rock and decided to try this place for an early dinner. We read that the wait can be up to an hour and wanted to avoid that at all cost. We were promptly seated when upon arrival and couldn't have been happier. Our waiter was very kind, attentive, and had many suggestions for us. He gave us his honest opinions when we were deciding on what to order and were overall pleased. Order the homemade salsa. It's $2.50 to choose 3 different kinds and it was probably the most fun part of the meal. On the menu, it goes from most spicy to least spicy. I'm a HUGE fan of spicy food and I was say the most spicy, the Tres Chilies is not spicy at all. It was a hint of spice and a smoky taste. We loved the verde tomatillo and zucchini. The zucchini is the most surprising salsa and had a wonderful aftertaste and is topped with pumpkin seeds. If you love lime, you will love the verde tomatillo. For our adults beverages, we ordered the Texas Two-Step and the house frozen margarita. The house frozen margarita is delicious! It is tasty and filling. I couldn't even finish mine and gladly shared. The Texas Two-Step was ordered with mezcal. It was enjoyable but the jalapeño used for garnish lacked any flavor at all. Entrees- We had the potato zucchini taco plate and the local carnitas taco plate. Both were good but not mind blowing. Our favorite part of the meal was the awesome sides. If you like spicy, order the spicy house pickled vegetables!!!! They had jalapeños, carrots, onions,, and cauliflower included. It was truly unique. The vegetarian black beans were phenomenal and I do NOT eat beans. The jicama jalapeño slaw and the cilantro lime rice were OK. Not bad, not great. They didn't stand out. The service was great and the atmosphere was too! We love the vibe and I think if you order the right things on the menu- you will have a stellar time. We were trying out different items and were really pleased overall. If you want to find a place to go out and enjoy wonderful margaritas and support a local establishment, go here!

Refreshing! A tasty Mexican restaurant without the Corrido or Ranchera music playing or Mexican Soap operas playing on TV's. The decor and atmosphere is a mix of modern and rustic that is very clean and laid back. The space is open, slightly alive and very refreshing in that someone actually thought about how it should feel to dine at Local Lime. There is a small bar that looks very inviting for those evenings when we just want to have a beer and share a plate of tacos. Always a plus in my book. We ordered two taco plates, Potato Zucchini and Grilled Ancho Chili Shrimp. Both dishes were very tasty with a chorus of flavors working together. The Potato Zucchini was served on corn tortillas and the Shrimp on Flour, but why am I even mentioning this? Tacos should be served on corn tortillas. The fact that the shrimp was served on flour seems odd as it added nothing to the flavor or experience. So there are a few oddities like this that I'm sure will be worked out over time. The Tacos could have been hotter as well. As it turned out, we were both interested in the same sides, Jicama Jalapeno Slaw and Black Beans. Both were tasty if a bit on the small side. The beans were surprisingly good and I could easily see this being part of a featured dish. Taken as a whole, the menu is not large and elaborate and it not overly burdened with traditional Mexican fare and the portion sizes are not huge. Those are not bad things because it shows instead a conscious choice to serve a more fine tuned eating experience. Price is not bad -- two entrees and a we shared a Flaun for a total of $30. We definitely intend to visit again soon to try out more of the menu.

All good was good. Lime Rice is fun, all tacos were great, house marg was super tasty. All atmosphere is awesome, great detail on the finishes (except why would you lay up with crappy chairs when all other finishes are great?) All service was terrible. All aspects of experience took forever. Staff was sloppy, tables sat dirty and empty for a long time while restaurant was on wait, staff seemed over whelmed and tired. It looked like the bartender was engaging but no one else. Cool place overall but really needs some FOH leadership. Or at least needed it today.

Local Lime is a great place with quality food. I like the atmosphere and love the food. I always get the guacamole as a starter, but for lunch, I heart the Black Beans and Rice bowl. Tasty and healthy so you can go wrong.

Another great place to eat in Little Rock. I think it is time for the owner's to try their hand in fine dining, something Little Rock lacks. Don't get me wrong, this place can get cozy (more so than Big Orange and ZaZa) but I want to see Scott McGehee and Company try their hand at it. They obviously have the palette and the front staff knowledge to do it. Back to the review: I went to Local Lime twice already, once during their soft opening and once a couple of weeks later and have tried a variety of their dishes. This review will incorporate both of my encounters. During my first visit, I started off with the salsa and chips ($2.50), where you can pick any three from a list of six. I highly recommend the Verde Tomatillo in terms of spiciness and flavor (the waiter recommended the Tres Chilies and claimed it to be the spiciest of the bunch but my mouth begs to differ). The second visit appetizers consisted of ceviche ($10.50), market corn ($4.00), and the other three salsas and a small side of guacamole ($5.50). If I had to pick one, I would definitely go with the ceviche as the ahi tuna was simply delicious. If you never had ceviche before, you should definitely try it. For a traditional Tex-Mex style appetizer, the guacamole and salsa would be sufficient. For the main course, I have tried almost every single one of the tacos. Tacos can be served a la carte ($3.75 each) or as an entree ($9.50 to $11.50) that consists of three tacos with two sides. My first visit consisted of the grilled skirt steak, grilled ancho chili shrimp, and the local carnitas. Out of that visit, the grilled skirt steak was the best. The second visit, I decided to try the barbecue pork belly, local chorizo, and the beer battered fish. Now, the grilled skirt steak taco is still delicious, but I think I found my favorite in the pork belly. Juicy and delicious. Oh and just a quick note, you can get tacos in either flour or corn tortilla; it doesn't have to be the one that is listed on the menu, those are just recommendations. I still have yet to try any of the entrees but I will definitely try their Rustic Skirt Steak and the Spinach Enchiladas at some point. I also got the Cilantro Lime Rice, the Drunken Beans, and the Jicama Slaw ($2.00 each) sometime during my visits. Nothing really shouted at me since these were overshadowed by the tacos. Drink wise, I'm content with drinking their local lime margaritas on the rocks ($8.00). Strong and decently priced. Hopefully they'll rotate some sides/entrees in and out depending on the season or have a seasonal special. Overall, a pleasant experience during my two visits. Service was also excellent, you don't see a lot of restaurants have great service during the first couple of weeks after opening. Recommended Dish: Ceviche, Barbecue Pork Belly Tacos, Grilled Skirt Steak Tacos

Staff is attentive and friendly, food is always great, lots of innovative choices, lovely decor and atmosphere. I love this place! The chicken tacos are by far my favorite. All of the dishes I've had here are flavorful without being too overwhelming, and I'm always down for a visit when I come back home.

How can one not love the taco & tequila combo? As I expect many people feel the same - in addition to the success of ZaZa's and Big Orange - it's safe to say Local Lime was highly anticipated. And, rightfully so in my opinion. It's true that my first experiences of these three restaurants weren't stellar (I need to keep to my rule of not visiting in the first weeks- because yes, I have high expectations apparently.) However, I always come around and give credit when due! Back to Local Lime - our table of 6 was seated promptly on a Sunday night. We started with a side of salsa (three flavors for $2.50, to be exact.) As we had two children with us who didn't care for anything too spicy, our waiter recommended the Verde Tomatillo, Zucchini, and Mango Papaya salsas. Although they were all good, the Zucchini salsa was my favorite! Creamy and topped with pumpkin seeds. Very unique. I choose the Local Carnitas taco plate - topped with pork, pickled onion, cotija cheese, red pepper crema, & cilantro. They were delicious! My husband also enjoyed his chorizo tacos, while our companions enjoyed the fish tacos and taco soup. Our friend did point out that the taco soup is not what you may expect - much heavier than normal, as it isn't broth based. The only thing I was somewhat disappointed with were the sides. The drunken beans and jalapeno slaw were pretty plain - not bad, but somewhat bland. The star of the show (at least for my hubby) was the Tres Leches & Rum cake ($6.50). It was soaked in rum, and really tasty. By the way, our waiter was great! Very friendly and efficient.

Ordered their grilled fish tacos, seriously the best tasting mexican food I ever had. Their mango/papaya salsa is yummy. I went to the restaurant after a hike from Pinnacle Mountain so the hunger and exertion added to the enjoyment of having a delicious meal :)

I do not agree with many of the reviewers. I live in Chicago and have access to many great restaurants and many local to Chicago. So I wanted to go some place unique to LR. I was disappointed. We went with a big group of people after work and order some drinks and dinner. The drinks were very over priced. For example, one of the ladies ordered a sangria and when it arrived it had alot of ice and very little sangria. She complained and was told that the ice would melt. Cafe Iberico in Chicago rocks Sangria and would never say that about their drinks. We ordered dinner and the portions were more like California sizes. What food was provided was delicious. As for the Gluten Free portion of the menu, you had very little choices. So if you are gluten free, I would not go there, I would look for an alternative. In short, I think there are better places in LR that have better Mexican food.

I really wanted to fall in love with this place. We had heard so many good things from so many people. But, I didn't. I guess Rick Bayless has spoiled me. It seemed to have all the right ingredients, nice decor, fresher food and a great reputation. The food was fresh and good but not exciting. The service was excellent and we didn't have to wait long for a table. To sum it up, would I go back? We will see. I still give them four stars because of the effort to bring better food to Arkansas.

Lots of fresh ingredients that are locally sourced when possible and great service. Although it's slightly pricier than most local Mexican restaurants (~$10 for three tacos and two sides), they have some of the best tacos in town and the quality warrants the price. For appetizers, I recommend the salsa trio. Get the zucchini salsa. The crispy pumpkin seeds and the creaminess of the zucchini really pair well together. The mango salsa is also good. These salsas are nice departures from the usual options. The ceviche is also delicious albeit small and I recommend you try it at least once as well. It's like Peruvian ceviche meets Hawaiian poke. Note: If a local restaurant starts serving poke, please let me know! You really can't go wrong with any of the tacos or margaritas. I'm not a huge fan of sides in general, so I normally get my tacos a la carte. I've dined here multiple times and have never had bad service. Everybody has been helpful, especially the waiter I had the last time I dined.

LITERALLY the best tacos and queso EVER. I cant go on enough about how much I love this restaurant! I don't even like margaritas normally but there's are to die for. Really great atmosphere and service too! I've lived in Little Rock 22 years and this is always the first restaurant I recommend. If you haven't been there yet, GO!

I can not say how much I love this place. I could each the lime rice alllllll day and not get tired of it. The drinks are usually strong too. I always order the fish tacos and they have never disappointed. Even if there is a wait, I will eat here

I eat out more than most people and I love Local Lime. I have only been once but, I know what is good. I have some people in my office who have made several visits and cannot wait to go back. I had several things and everything was great. I love the look of the place and the service was great. I went for second time on 01/10/2013 , took some friends withs us, again everything was great, continued great food and service.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Little Rock! The atmosphere is very fun and hipster. The food is absolutely amazing! You must try the zucchini salsa ( sounds weird but you will be trying to get the last bite before anyone else with you)! The salads are large and fresh with several dressing choices (try the verde salsa as dressing, yum!). Enchiladas, salmon, and most tacos are wonderful! The quality of ingredients used are way above peer! The rustic tortilla soup is divine and unlike any other you've ever tried! You will not be disappointed in whatever you get!

Whenever my family travels back to Arkansas to visit our extended family and friends for vacations and holidays there is always the difficult choice of where out of our hometown favorites we should visit to eat and this time we decided, based on the reviews of many friends, to venture out for something new at Local Lime. When we arrived it was over an hour wait on a Thursday night. We had a baby and an 11 year old with us on a very hot and humid night. And we decided to brave it, regardless. I am so thrilled to say that the end product was worth the wait and then some. We appreciated the busy atmosphere and sleek and modern, but not too busy, interior design of Local Lime. The waitstaff was very friendly and efficient and when there was a small delay on one of our appetizers they brought us TWO of them to make up for it, though it wasn't evennecessary as the wait was not excessive. We were so impressed by the incredible quality and thoughtfulness that was put into even the simplest of menu items. The ceviche was among the best my husband and I have ever had and we are very big ceviche eaters; having eaten it quite a bit, from fresh in Costa Rica and Mexico many times to homemade in my kitchen, we were so surprised to try something new and different with this mango and ahi tuna combination. We were thrilled with it and I can't compliment it enough. The salsa varieties we sampled were all delicious- but my personal favorites were the zucchini and the mango. Definitely worth paying for as they are specialty salsas and fed our table of 6 and then some. For our meals my family all had enchiladas; I had the shrimp and corn, my husband had spinach and my son had the mole. The mole was too spicy for my son but that's not saying much since he is 11 and just wanted to try something new; my husband liked it and took it home at the end of the night, though. The spinach enchiladas were fantastic and my husband was very happy with all of his food, but my shrimp and corn enchiladas were the best enchiladas that I have ever had and I am not overly effusive unless I am genuinely impressed by something. They were delicious and the cilantro rice and black beans were perfectly complimentary to them. I also had a margarita, which was standard but yummy and a drink called The O.C. which was crisp, refreshing and tasty. Also, this restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options, which is surprisingly rare in Arkansas; way to be leaders, Local Lime. All I have left to say is that I am already looking forward to our next holiday visit, since Local Lime is permanently on our radar now. As someone traveling from San Antonio, which has some of the best Mexican restaurants in the country, this is seriously saying something.

I would say quite good, not amazing. Better tacos at Baja Grill in Benton or Rock N Tacos in my opinion. Service, food and atmosphere help it become a 4+ star (but not 5) in my opinion. But I have eaten there 3 times. So I am a fan.

Mother's Day. Wait was acceptable. Told 30-45 minutes.. Actual wait was about 20 minutes.. Appetizers were excellent, food was great. Server was GREAT. Waiter in next section was GREAT. Cocktails were slow, but tasty. HOWEVER, tonight's hostess did not fill the bill. FIRST, when we called to inquire about being added to wait list, that was OUT OF THE QUESTION. Wait was currently 30 minutes. Told us when we considered the 4-top next to the table we were directed to, that there was "ASSIGNED SEATING." BAD ATTITUDE. Repeat BAD ATTITUDE. The when we about halfway through dinner, hostess began VACUUMING between our table and another OCCUPIED table. When I inquired, "Could you not do that?." she said,"I was vacuuming up salt." SO.... Good drinks, good appetizers, excellent food. HOSTESS LACKING.

PRICES UP! Prices have crossed the line from really expensive to just plain offensive. Having eaten at Local Lime 5-10 times, I can say that the food really is good (yet taco truck simple) but I had to downgrade my rating based on value. It'll hurt them none, because they are constantly packed & you can expect up to a 2 hour wait. But... On our latest girls trip, we noticed the menu price for drinks had gone down. E.G. A house margarita had been $8 or $8.5) & had been lowered to $7. After several drinks, cheese dip tacos, we asked for the bill and found that the liquor tax, previously included on margaritas, was now attached at the bottom of the bill. While the menu gave the appearance to the contrary, PRICES ACTUALLY WENT UP by about $1. Other prices rose slightly and several old menu items were absent from the menu. On this trip, 3 cocktails, cheese dip, and 2 tacos was about $70 with tax & tip. Given the simplicity of the food, I can't in good conscience pay those prices. Take for example their Heritage margarita. At $11.50, with tax that drink is about $15 for tequila, lime juice, & triple sec! That just hurts my feelings. If you can't be bothered to figure out how to make a chorizo taco on your own, just stop by the taco truck in front of Colonial Wine & Spirits. While you're there, pick up a moderately priced tequila & triple sec. Then, go by Kroger & pick up some limes & a little cilantro or jalapeno to garnish your drink. If you want to preserve the true Local Lime experience, drop $60 on the ground in the parking lot, because that's how much more you'd pay.

We really enjoyed our visit to Local Lime ... the second time. The first time we tried to go (at 8 p.m. on a Saturday night), we were informed the wait was 2 1/2 hours! We ambled down the street to Big Orange for a 20-minute wait. Last I knew, Local Lime did not take reservations (annoying), so we waited a couple weeks, then came back around 4:30 p.m. before a party; we ran into some friends who were doing the same thing and joined them for a delicious and fun EARLY supper. I tried the house margarita, which they bill as the best margarita in the city. It WAS really good. One of our friends had a recommended beer, which he loved. Two of us had the sangria of the day, which was a white sangria, and they enjoyed it. When we were looking over the menu, I have to admit, I was flummoxed because I wanted to try so many things on it. We settled on a selection of salsas (all delicious!) and I ordered the ceviche, which was very tasty as well. I really loved the concept of mixing and matching the various taco options. We shared and enjoyed tasting each other's choices, as well. They have vegetarian options, too, which is nice. I loved everything we tried, and I will definitely be back. I like that they are open continuously between lunch and dinner so you can drop in for a late lunch or early dinner if you want to avoid the insane wait we were confronted with the first time round. Yum!

As others have mentioned, Local Lime is part of the Big Orange, ZaZa's ownership family. Being big fans of those, and being a huge Tex-Mex fan, we anxiously awaited the opening of LL. It did not disappoint. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is cool, but not obnoxiously so, and the staff is fantastic. The layout is well thought-out in that if you have a booth on the side of the building, you're not inundated by the crowd that forms around the horseshoe shaped bar. On the weekend, the bar seems to get 2-3 people deep, which can be tight if at one of the open tables. The only negative is that being new and popular, expect a wait. We called ahead about 10 minutes before arriving on a Friday night and were told there was no wait at the moment and they didn't take reservations anyway. Literally 10 minutes later, we walked in to a 45-60 minute wait. Granted we were seated in about 30, but it fills up quickly given the size of the place. There are not a ton of seats. Lastly, my wife and child are gluten intolerant, and finding restaurants that offer gluten free options is tough, and even if they do, cross-contamination in the kitchen is an issue. Fortunately, the kitchen is well-versed. The wait-staff not so much, but they were helpful in getting the right answers for us as to not set off a pretty bad allergy. There are six salsa options and 4 out of 6 are GF. Many dish options as well. LL is a great addition to the Little Rock dining scene.

You would have to be dead to not enjoy the yummyliciousness here, the food is worth however long the wait is. I plan to visit each time I go home.

I had the salsa trio, the pork belly tacos, and the drunken pinto beans. The salsa trio was just okay, admittedly the salsas were interesting flavorwise, but the tacos were cold, bland, tiny, and had very little pork belly in them. The drunken pinto beans were so spicy I couldn't even eat them and I am no slouch when it comes to spicy food. If it was too hot for me then it was inedible.

I tend to stay within the perimeters of food I KNOW I like, so I don't have a very adventurous palate. However, on a recent trip here with my boyfriend and his crazy mother, I was really happy to have tried the salsa trio, which included a mango salsa, a pumpkin salsa, and a corn salsa. All three were AMAZING, and the chips really stood up to the weight of the salsas. Dining with my crazy mother-in-law is often an experience I'd rather skip. She tends to scare waitresses and cause a scene. However, we have had the same waitress both times we dined here, and she was really good at keeping things calm and pleasant. So GIANT PROPS to her! The food overall is delicious. I have tried the skirt steak tacos and the fish tacos, and both were very filling and flavorful. You also get generous helpings of rice and beans with the dish, and both are done really well. The margaritas are crazy good and strong. I never drink and I was a little tipsy when I left off just two margaritas. A great place, great atmosphere, mouthwatering food and a staff that can keep my mother-in-law quiet. WILL BE BACK!

If there were a 4.5 star option, Local Lime would fit the bill perfectly. The atmosphere, food, and service are the high points, but it is very expensive for what you get. It is definitely my favorite Mexican/fusion restaurant in Little Rock. Often times, there is a wait, and the software they use can be spotty, but we have never experienced excessive wait times. Their margaritas are excellent and on par with the best out there, but very expensive. I order the salmon or the salmon salad most any time I eat there, and there has only been one instance of it not being cooked properly. The salad is definitely a must-order. The salsas are also very good, but the taco portions seem skimpy for the price. Overall, the value is the only thing that holds this restaurant back from being five stars. Atmosphere, food, and service are all excellent. It is a must-stop if you are in LR.

I've waited until I visited Local Lime several times to give my opinion here. I have been very impressed with the food, quality of service and my overall experience. My first visit was not long after Local Lime opened. The servers were new but well trained. They could answer my questions about the menu easily and didn't hesitate to ask someone if they were unsure of something (an ingredient in a cocktail). During my more recent visits, the servers are well equipped to answer my questions and serve me. One of my visits we opted to sit at the bar. I was very impressed at the speed and efficiency of the bar staff. They are responsible for making all of the drinks for the dining room as well as to serve those seated at the bar. Even though the restaurant was full, I didn't think my service experience skipped a beat sitting at the bar at all. I really enjoyed watching them work. Their precision at measuring out ingredients for each and every drink will ensure that my drink is just as the intended it to be, every time I visit. Lastly, in respect to prices- I really appreciate the variety of prices at Local Lime. If I was trying to stick to a budget, I could still eat well here. A couple of tacos, three salsa with chips and a canned tecate would get me out of there pretty cheap. If I felt like spending more, I certainly could, but prices aren't a factor for me to decide if I should go out to Local Lime. I especially appreciate that they add the taxes onto the cocktail prices (I saw a note on the menu and asked my server about it). It may make them seem like they are more expensive than nearby places, but they aren't. My favorites: Market Corn, guacamole with jicama and cucumber dippers, zucchini salsa, chicken, pork and beef tacos. Looking forward to my next visit!

Local Lime gets crowded. I went on a Tuesday Night and there was a 1 hour wait-So, be warned!! Nice trendy atmosphere at this place...I like the fact that Local Lime doesn't pretend to be authentic- because it isn't! That said, the salsa sampler was good! and so was the guacamole! Unfortunately, my fish tacos had ZERO taste. The fish was overcooked and rubbery. The portions were kind of on the small side, and the bill was kinda on the heavy side. So, I guess, if you find yourself in the immediate area, willing to wait, and have deep pockets... This restaurant is all about offering a trendy scene and it's a nice place to dine. Like an upscale Chili's or Applebee's It's just not a destination spot for good Mexican food.

This is a tough one to review. The food is great! It's pricey, but reasonable for what your taste buds will experience. I've been there twice and walked away happy both times. However, you should plan on this being one of the only stops on your Night Out on the Town, because all you do is WAIT. You wait an hour for a table, another 10 to get a drink order in, another long thirsty wait for drinks, another wait to order appetizers ...another wait ...well, you get the idea. I left happy though, but maybe the company I was with should get more of the credit for this 4* rating?

Wow! I really enjoyed the whole expirience. The salsas ware wonderful and the food was excellent. Our server was slammed, but really solid. This is not traditional fare and is a GREAT take on mexican. Don't expect greasy enchiladas and regular old tacos here. The menu is really a nice twist on traditional flavors with flair. Chorizo and pineapple tacos? You bet! Wow, they really hit a great combination of flavors and the presentation is great. You will pay more here, but it is worth it! Quality in every bite.

Family recommendation...glad we checked it out. We arrived during the weekday toward the latter part of the lunch hour and thought we should be fine. The food was excellent, the service not so much. That is why I am giving a 3 out of 4. I ordered a sangria, the beer battered fish taco and the pork carnita taco along with the jicama jalapeño slaw. The fish taco was the star of the dish...The sangria never arrived and the server was all but absent. Never refilled our beverages nor came to check on how we were doing. Thankfully the food lived up to the hype.

This is my favorite place to eat in LR right now. I always find a spot at the very comfortable bar. Great comfy seats and great service. All of the drinks are wonderful and creative. Ask for "bitters please" in the more acidy drinks. It really helps! Ceviche is fresh and flavorful, all tacos Ive had are delicious. The mexican street corn is not pretty to eat, but worth it! The servers are all fantastic and the owner comes around regularly to the tables. My husband says the skirt steak was fantastic even though he likes medium rare, and they suggest medium with this cut. A must have is the trio of salsas. My favorite is the tomatilla but they are all good. I will continue to drive to the "other" side of town to frequent this gem of a place!

This is one of my favorite spots in Little Rock. I love Mexican food, and this is a cut above most Mexican places. For starters, the restaurant is very slick looking--not your standard sombrero covered walls. You wouldn't know this was a Mexican restaurant based on the decor. In the mood to enjoy the beautiful weather? They've got a great outdoor area and a heated/cooled patio as well. Try the bar--I've eaten there twice and the bartenders are always friendly and make great drink selections. As for the food, I've never had anything I didn't like, but my favorites are the salsa trio (zucchini salsa is so unique!), the cheese dip, the pork tacos, the lime rice (I always order double!) and the corn (it's a la carte--great to split with a friend) And finally the drinks--I've tried many, all good, but my absolute fav is the frozen house margarita. Two of these pack a punch (be sure to bring a ride home!) and they taste delish! Find them on Facebook--they post specials regularly.

Service was slow but very attentive. I had the grilled fish tacos with cilantro lime rice and the jicama salad. The tacos were delicious and so were the sides. All items had just the right amount of seasoning. I also had some ceviche which was awesome. The salsas were all great. Especially the one with mango. I had the house margarita which was good but I'd have to say the pineapple mojito was my favorite drink of the night. I tried my friend's carnitas taco and it too was delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Service was excellent. Great decor. Super punch. Tasty cheese dip. Entrees were not good. The sauce overpowered the flavor of the meat(didn't compliment it). Slaw was sheered cabbage with lime-vinegar. Oblong plates provided nice presentation of food but not easy to eat off of.

I'm usually not a fan of fusion food, but this was different. While a lot of stuff on their menu was not authentic, they all somehow kept an authentic taste... I had chorizo tacos and pork belly tacos. One of the best things I've tried in Little Rock so far. Great job in using corn tortillas!

Ok, here is another one for the record books, guys! This is one more of Scott Mcgehee's concepts that will dazzle every one of your senses. When you walk in to the doors of Local Lime, it's as if you've been transported to an authentic Central American cantina. The atmosphere is not only casual and welcoming, but a feast for the eyes. The wood on the walls is a unique touch, while the centerpiece on the bar makes you ask yourself if Scott and his team were trying to reference the great El Bulli? I loved it! Before I get started, I'll tell you that I have been a HUGE fan of central American food for quite some time now. Coming up in the restaurant business, you are beyond privileged to get tons of homemade treats from your Hispanic restaurant family that you work with side by side every day! I started off by sampling all of the salsas. They were so simply and delicately put together- the flavors danced! Let me tell you, there is not one in the bunch that wasn't a 10 out of 10! Thankfully, I was with a group of about 6 or so of my good friends. This was a great way for us to try and sample so many things! The Tuna ceviche was perfect, with jalapeños shaved paper thin you will always get the "perfect" bite. The mango and cilantro are like a Redbull for your taste buds, making this another perfectly balanced dish. WOW! The side dish that really caught my attention was the "druken beans"- a tiny bit spicy and a little bit sweet. Without tasting them, I'll tell you that the experience is reminiscent of a warm quilt right out of the dryer on a cold day or a hug from grandma. They embody my idea of comfort food. Get ready for the tacos! Any one that knows me, knows that my favorite two vehicles for protein and their accoutrements are fresh, white corn tortillas or a casing like that of a sausage. This brings me to the first thing I had- a house made chorizo taco. The pineapple and the spicy pork worked so well together that they acted like old friends. I wanted to take 20 of these home with me. They were absolutely outstanding! The fish in the fish tacos was lightly fried, and just crunchy enough to compliment the red pepper crema and the crunchy house made slaw. I have to go ahead and get to the crowning achievement of the meal- the pork belly tacos are beyond words. They are brining and braising these pork bellies in house, letting them cool enough to slice, and then caramelizing the slices on a grill of some sort to achieve a crunchy outside and a soft, tender middle. These are little bites of porky yumminess! In conclusion, Local Lime is a 12 out of 10. About a year ago, when Scott told me he was going to open a gourmet taco place, I spent the next months eagerly anticipating its arrival. Now all I am eagerly anticipating is the next time I'll get to go to eat there! Scott and Jon have definitely achieved their goal of creating another stellar concept.

I had been thwarted by the intense wait on the weekends (twice, I just gave up and headed over to the reliably yummy Big Orange) but we went for lunch on a Saturday and we sat down immediately. Our waitress Robin was phenomenal. Well versed on the menu options and every suggestion turned out to be delicious. We started with the Margarita Lite and we weren't that thrilled (you can taste the Stevia) but we replaced them with the Local Lime Margarita which was absolutely DELICIOUS. We ended up ordering more because they were just SO tasty. For food, we ordered the three salsas with chips (house, mango, and zucchini). The house was good, the zucchini was intriguing, but the mango blew us away. We ordered the tacos (potato and chicken) and per suggestion, we split the tacos between us. Both were absolutely delicious. I had intended on taking something home with me but I gobbled it all up too quickly. I'm looking forward to trying more of the options. Everything on the menu looked appetizing. Robin checked on us regularly, was ready with a joke and helpful suggestions, We also had a couple of other servers/managers who stopped by, cleaned up the table, checked on us, and were generally lovely. Local Lime has definitely lived up to the Big Orange/Zaza standard and I'm looking forward to going back. I wish it weren't so far out but it's not a bad drive to get to something so delicious.

Went here with my girlfriend and 2 other couples. Everyone loved it! We started with all 6 salsas and a round of margaritas that were all exceptional. We all ordered a different taco plate and a pitcher of Aqua Fresca with tequila. Everything was absolutely delicious. I had the pork belly tacos and they were amazing! I got to taste the carnitas and chorizo tacos and they were great as well! Our server, Justin I think, was awesome. He was just the right amount of attentive and offered helpful suggestions. I look forward to visiting Local Lime many times in the future.

This ain't your padre's Tex-Mex! I've eaten here a couple of times since it opened and had consistently good food and service. Reading the few poor reviews here, its obvious that if you are a fan of the generic Tex-Mex "big plate of Brown Goo" Local Lime is not for you. The Artisan Margarita are great and the variety of salsas are also all good. If I have a complaint there it would be to please increase the serving side just a little! Tacos are excellent as well and the desserts exceed what you would probably expext from a Mexican Restuarant. The Tres Leches was was all you could ask for. The only thing I have had yet that fell short of the mark was the Drunken Beans. Not bad, just less than memorable in comparison to everything else.Still working my way through the menu but no complaints so far. I would love to see them add a Grilled Fish Taco. The Baja style are a good representation of the dish, but grilled fish taco's can be sublime and I really think Local Lime could shine with their take on it. I'd like also see them begin running daily or weekly specials. There is obviously some creativity and talent in the kitchen and it would be great to see what they come up with! How about some Lengua or Menudo! Overall this is a great dining experience for adults looking for good, non-chain, non-generic, Mexican food. Would not recommend Local Lime for families with small children. It just doesn't lend itself to that in either menu selection or ambiance.

My friend and I decided to eat somewhere we'd never been before so after perusing Yelp we settled on Local Lime. I'm so glad we did. When we arrived, the joint was packed even though we got there between lunch and dinner. Luckily, we scored a seat outside as it was a bit warm and not many people were keen on eating in the sun. The table was lovely and we could enjoy the live music from outside the bar a few doors down. Our waiter, Cody, was very friendly. Maybe a bit too attentive at first, but he cooled off a bit as the meal progressed. We started by picking three salsas. The zucchini with pumpkin seeds immediately became our favorite of the three. It was simply amazing. Please, dear God, order that salsa. You will not regret it. The mango was good. Sweet. Complemented the saltiness of the chips. It wasn't the best mango salsa I've ever had, though. The regular salsa (tomato, jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, etc.) was good but nothing to write home about. A con- our food took a bit long to make it to the table. We were given a bit too much time to fill up on chips and salsa. We decided to share a plate of the Grilled Ancho Chili Shrimp Tacos (I think that's what they're called) and they looked and tasted just wonderful. One of the taco plates which come with two sides (we got the lime rice and shredded jalapeño slaw which were both delicious) plus all of the chips and salsa was more than enough for the two of us. We had a fantastic time and a great meal. We will definitely be returning to Local Lime in the future.

Best Mexican in Arkansas. Great service! All tacos are awesome. Just tried fajitas for the first time tonight. They were amazing as well. The best and most unique item on the menu is zucchini salsa. Everyone loves this stuff. Got to try it if you haven't already!!!

As a huge fan of Scotty's other upstarts, ZaZas, Blvd, BigOrange, i was maybe expecting too much or maybe the recipe kinks just need to be worked out. Tried the chorizo and pork belly tacos. Pork belly was good but overcooked, chorizo tasted like it was coated in brown sugar and it already had plenty of sweetness in the fruit. Service was excellent. Sampled most of the margaritas and have to say the "2 step" is the only one that really wowed me. Also this place is extremely Cilantro happy, it was used as a garnish on almost everything including drinks and salsa. Cilantro is not parsley and it has a very acrid and metallic taste to many and should be used lightly unless disclosed otherwise. Overall i'd give it a C. I'll be back for a cocktail but the overall food taste leaves much to be expected.

Excellent quality of food! Have been there twice now. Pork, beef and fish tacos are awesome. One of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Try all of the different picante sauces (you pick 3) so you have a good reason to come back again. And don't forget the Margaritas, made with liquor you would actually drink.

If 'dressy' means coming in camo, then the customers of West Little Rock need to be provided with the definition of 'dressy'. And you say it isn't appropriate for children, but there sure were lots of noisy children interfering with my dining experience. To the chef: you don't have to load everything up with jalapeños; the fish tacos were so spicy I had to ask for a small cup of sour cream to put out the fire in my mouth! And the slaw was not even edible-way too spicy!! Think about serving jalapeños on the side or identifying each dish with little pepper on the menu so patrons will know how hot & spicy the dish will be. The Queso, Mango Salsa, and the Margarita were the only food items I could eat ~ and I moved up to Little Rock from Texas, where eating Mexican food is nearly a pastime! Mexican food doesn't have to be 'designer' to be delicious. You should focus on delicious and not designer!

I had three different tacos, the carnitas, grilled shrimp and steak. They were ok,but came out cold. It felt as if there was pressure to turn the table over as the server brought our checks and did not inquire if we wanted anything else. Enjoyed the decor and the salsas were good. Maybe caught them on an off night as others really like this restaurant.

You must try the chorizo and pineapple tacos! Simply amazing! Pair it with a house margarita on the rocks.....best margarita in Little Rock! The chocolate torte dessert with gelato was the perfect size for sharing!

I have completely changed my mind about this place! It is my favorite restaurant in Little Rock right now. I love their queso with the slices of fresh jalapeno in it. The red chile sauce that comes on the spinach enchiladas tastes like an authentic New Mexican red sauce. I love it and I order extra sauce with my enchiladas. I love, love, love the potato and zucchini tacos. Again, I like the fresh jalapenos and the crema drizzled on top. The guacamole is perfect, too. I'm still not a fan of their salsas. But, I can forget about the salsa after I take a sip of my margarita and take my first bite of queso! The one thing I would like to see would be an option to choose different kinds of tacos for the 3-taco/2-sides plate. It's a little ridiculous how much the plate costs if you order the tacos and sides a-la-carte because all the taco plates basically cost the same. Just make it simple...taco plate - select any 3 tacos and 2 sides and set one price. OK, see you next weekend. :)

local lime is good. service was attentive. everyone seemed to like what they had but all agreed that many local taco trucks offer tacos that are at least as good. the extra taco sauce that was provided was excellent, i think it was house made but not sure. guac portion was generous. dining companion had the salmon and it looked very good. carnitas tacos were better than the shrimp ones. cheese dip pretty standard (and still dont understand why its the official food of little rock). LL seemed lighter and healthier than many other local mex options. we will go back.

My dining experience was over the top, the staff along with the owner constantly checked on us to make sure we were taken care of. The food was absolutely to die for, clearly the result of using fresh ingredients. Normally I'm very hesitant to trying frozen margaritas because the frozen mix gives me heart burn, I caved and tried both frozen and unfrozen they were both the best margaritas I have ever had. I went in with expectations of chaos and being rushed by the staff to turn tables over quickly, but infact it was complete opposite. We will be returning very soon, there are so many amazing sounding dishes on the menu that I cant wait to try!!!! The establishment was breath taking very ascetically pleasing, absolutely impressing. We will recommend this restaurant to everyone, I will try to find excuses to continue to return. Local Lime gets a perfect 10 in my book. It's also sad that some people can't branch out and experience real gourmet food, that they have to put it down because they are closed minded.

  • Tim V.

If don't like cilantro or beans don't eat here. Everything is covered in cilantro. Nice decor, but also kind of pricey. Maybe it's ok for just drinks and salsa if you can get the salsa without cilantro.

  • Jill W.

The store was accommodating to a large group of sixteen women. The salsa with chips was $3 but you got three flavors. Happy hour has $5 margaritas that are not made from a mix so it was delicious. The portions are on the small end but the flavor was good and I didn't leave hungry or full.

  • Mike J.

  • Matt R.

  • Lucas S.

From Texas...great evening with the family getting ready for a new year at Hendrix College. Great food, atmosphere & drinks. Love the queso or cheese dip as they say in Arkansas.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
